A Krait Ordeal
It crawled up to me
And I saw, pulled myself up, gradually shied
The plastic chair too feared and quivered
It coiled then positioned itself.
I ran to ring Ravi the night guard
Then to Deepak, then to whom I know not
It wriggled to under the bed, over the potatoes to take the wall.
Manhunt began, but to no avail
They ordered me to block all creeks and sleep
Half an hour passed.
It was seen again to hide swiftly under the brick block.
The night guard all troubled left no brick unturned during this raid.
There it was - all curled up!
It wanted to rest in peace as it was late midnight
Now it is gone and I pray they never come into anybody's.
